La Joconde
Grand Palais Immersif, CCI, Marseille
2022

La Joconde is a fully immersive, 600m² exhibition that reimagines da Vinci’s iconic portrait through a rich blend of visuals, sound, and storytelling. Visitors are invited to explore the myth and meaning of the Mona Lisa in new ways—beyond the clichés—through panoramic landscapes, textured projections, and layered narratives that reveal the depth and context behind the world’s most famous painting.
For this project, I developed a spatial audio experience designed to match the scale and immersion of the visuals. Using Unity and Reaper with OSC communications, we created a responsive sound environment powered by 28 speakers positioned around the space. Depending on where visitors stood along the outer edge of the room, the audio would shift and follow them, triggering playback on the nearest speaker for a deeply personal and location-specific sound experience.
I also handled the full setup and mapping of the 28-speaker system using Dante, ensuring everything was calibrated and synced for real-time interactivity. The result was an audio landscape that felt alive—reactive, atmospheric, and woven into the flow of the exhibition itself.
